The number of people driving under the influence across the state has increased, according to numbers released by state police from 2015.

Last year alone, troopers dealt with almost 19,000 DUI arrests – an almost 6.2 percent increase from 2014.

Almost 5,000 of those arrests were for driving while under the influence of drugs – a 43 percent increase from 2014.

These statistics cover only those arrests and crashes investigated by state police and do not include statistics from other law enforcement agencies in Pennsylvania.
