State College Police are investigating a case of identity theft costing thousands of dollars for the victim.
Police say someone living along the 900-block of Greenbriar Drive in State College was scammed out of $8000 after scammers opened up credit cards in their name.
State College Police say the thief spent the money in Florida. They plan on working with Florida police.
