LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man who killed a neighbor by accidentally firing a handgun through the wall of their row homes may soon be out of jail.
A Lancaster County judge sentenced 25-year-old Allante Floyd on Tuesday to up to 23 months for involuntary manslaughter in the death last year of Nelmarys Rivera-Alequin.
LNP says Rivera-Alequin’s husband Jose Arroyo told the judge he believes in second chances and asked her to set Floyd free.
Floyd’s lawyer says in all likelihood Floyd will be paroled from county prison in the next few days and will spend three years on supervision.
Floyd pleaded guilty to misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter and three counts of reckless endangerment.
He was cleaning an AK-47-style pistol when it discharged through the wall, hitting the 38-year-old Rivera-Alequin in the head.
