About 79,000 pounds of material was collected during this year’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection in Centre County.
The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority said folks from 1,160 households took advantage of the two-day collection.
Several dozen people from nine surrounding counties participated, too.
In addition to pesticides and other waste, more than one mile of linear feet of fluorescent tubes were accepted and more than 1,000 pounds of cardboard was collected.
The next collection event will be held in 2017.
