A big shake up in the 9th Congressional District this morning.
Art Halvorson has been declared the winner of the Democratic Party’s primary.
The PA Department of State announced on Thursday that the Bedford County man received 1,069 write in votes, which is more than the 1,000 needed to gain general election ballot access.
Adam Sedlock, who was running uncontested in April, received 1,028, falling short to Halvorson.
Halvorson, who is a Republican, will now have to decide if he wants to accept the nomination.
If he accepts, he’ll once again face off against Congressman Bill Shuster, in the November general election.
