A new bill allowing the use of semi-automatic firearms for some hunting is on its way to Governor Wolf’s desk.
The bill which is sponsored by State Rep. Matt Gabler of Clearfield and Elk Counties would also allow the use of air or gas powered rifles.
Gabler said the inspiration behind the bill came from an Elk County citizen who showed him the advancements in technology in those types of firearms that makes them viable, humane options for hunting.
The House passed this bill overwhelmingly.
