With a dangerously cool ride, Logger hits the road with his group known as the Guardians of the Children.

He said they all have a love for motorcycles but they’re purpose is to raise awareness and educate the public about child abuse.

“They used the biker persona to help the kids feel safe, you know, big scary bikers do what they do. But in reality we’re not bikers we’re just people who care about helping kids,” Logger said.

Nation-wide chapters of the organization reach out to kids who have suffered from abuse or bullying.

“We’ve dealt with kids that have been physically abused, been mentally abused, sexually abused,” Logger said.

He said the Keystone Chapter is the only one in the north east corridor.

They work with agencies like child services or local police departments that cross paths with kids in need of a support system.

“If it’s a case that we can help with then we rally the troops and we go and do an adoption,” Logger said.

Each member wears a personalized vest, also called “cuts.”

Tink, secretary of the chapter, said the group rides up to every adoption in style.

She and logger admit kids may be intimidated at first but put their guard down once they understand the group’s purpose.

“So now they’re getting who knows, 15-20 brothers and sisters that are going to do whatever to make them feel safe to go ahead and go through their situation,” Logger said.

During the adoption, the kids become “Lil’ Guardians.”

Logger said so far the group has adopted about 40 children.

“They get a vest just like we have, they have their own road name,” Logger said.

Tink said hitting the open road is always fun, “but when we put our cuts on and roll out it’s all about the kids.”

And she hopes each ride brings a child some peace of mind

To join the group you must be in possession of a motorcycle or know someone in the group who has an extra seat.
