Students, teachers, friends, family, and community members lined the streets Thursday afternoon to support their home team.
“I’m so excited the Boswell community came out to support these girls and to see the student body come out, that was awesome,” says North Star alumnus Mary Harr.
“I wouldn’t trade it for anything,” senior guard Olivia Zuchelli says. “This is my family. We’ve grown up together, so it’s amazing to share this experience with them.”
It’s a fairy tale ending for Zuchelli and the rest of her teammates as they head off to their first ever state championship for basketball. It’s been an exciting year for the Boswell community. North Star High School is full of champions as the volleyball team also went to the state championship this past season.
“It just meant a lot to the school I think and to ourselves personally to see that our hard work and dedication has paid off,” Zuchelli adds. “The community has stood by us and they have been very supportive through this whole year.”
Coming off of an emotional win against Bishop McCort, the girls say they know they have another tough test ahead of them on Friday.
The community is supporting them one last time this season and folks like Harr have one final message for the girls, “Good luck Cougars!”
The Lady Cougars will take the court Friday at noon in Hershey.
