This coming Sunday, the Lady Lions will don their pink uniforms to show their support for breast cancer awareness and raise funds to help fight the disease.

Some area women especially appreciate this annual event. The members of the Young Survivors Coalition of Centre County were diagnosed at an early age.

Katie Anderson-Wheeler, had 3 breast lumps, and two types of invasive cancer at  39.

She said, “I felt like something was wrong and I probably felt the lump for awhile, just denied it in a sense so, then it finally got to the point where I knew that I had to do something.,”

Katie will celebrate five years as a survivor this year.

The Play for Kay Pink Zone tips off Sunday February 26 at 2 pm at the Bryce Jordan Center.
