The Marienstadt Public House in Elk County took on a new nationality Friday, as it celebrated St. Patrick’s day. The mainly German Bar, added specials to their menu. Corned Beef, Ham and potatoes, and Ruben sandwiches were embraced by the staff and the customers. The chef said it’s not too different from traditional German fare, using mainly boiled vegetables and roasted meat. However, the chef said it was fun to stray from the usual day to day menu.

Bag pipes, accordions, and a local band were all slated throughout the night to set the ambiance in the pub. And drink specials topped their all-beer menu. The owner said it’s about celebrating heritage, and a fun way to bring people together. The bar will be open throughout Friday night, with no set closing time. The bar has plans to open a new patio section once the temperatures get warmer as spring approaches.
