A summer camp at Treasure Lake is getting help from a free summer lunch program.
The DuBois Area School district is offering lunches up to 4 days a week, on certain days through August, according to a sign.
One site is Treasure Lake Church. The ministries executive director says a church member, who is the district’s business manager, told them about the program, and this is their second year using it.
“We feed over 40, 50-plus kids here every day,” says Cathy Donahue. “She checked into it. They said that was great, we could go ahead and utilize the program during the days and times that they have. So she came to us actually, which was a blessing.”
Kids aged 18 and under from outside the camp are also welcome. The lunches are also served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on various days at the DuBois Area Middle School and at C.G. Johnson Elementary School in Reynoldsville.
The district posted the schedule online.
