Flags remain at half-staff across the state and dozens of flowers lay at a small memorial that has grown outside of the Huntingdon Barracks, where Trooper Weaver served.

Trooper Weaver only wore the State Police uniform for one year, but his fellow troopers said the young man was a dedicated officer and an important member of their family.

The outpouring of support has been incredible as businesses across the region have signs up honoring Weaver’s service and many people have left their porch lights on in his memory.

Governor Tom Wolf paid a visit to the members of Troop G in Huntingdon, just days after his death, alongside State Police Commissioner Tyree Blocker.

“Trooper Weaver was a young member of the Pennsylvania State Police,” Blocker said. “But one that exhibited all of the qualities, the professional qualities that we look for in a member of the Pennsylvania State Police. He was compassionate, he was professional. He had a good sense of humor and possessed exceptional interpersonal skills.”

WTAJ’s Jordan Tracy is standing along the procession route, as it comes through the town of Newry.

Parishioners and students from St. Patrick’s School will be among the people who will line the streets to pay their respects to Trooper Weaver.
