First election for many at campus watch party

Penn State Altoona students gathered to watch the final presidential debate Wednesday, for what will be the first election to participate in for many in attendance.

The nearly 50 students watching in the Slep Fireside Lounge had strong reactions to some of the comments made by both candidates.

Some students in the room had already decided who they will be voting for, but others who were still undecided were hoping the final debate would help them make up their minds.

“This election will determine the future of America,” Gary Brown, president of the political science club on campus, said. “I have no idea how long, It’s definitely the most influential election since 1968 at least.”

Another student, who will be voting for the first time, expressed his concerns while watching the debate.

“This debate to me seems very aggressive in general they’re attacking each other and I think it’s unprofessional,” Daniel Schleufer said.

Wednesday’s debate was the third and final presidential debate of the 2016 election season.
