A woman in Huntingdon County that faked having a Law License will now spend at least two years in jail.
Kim Kitchen was practing law at BMZ Law reportedly handling will and real estate work from 2005 until 2014.
The Attorney General’s office had no record of her having a license, nor of her ever taking the Bar Exam.
On Tuesday, she was sentenced to 2 years and a day to 5 years in state prison on the count of tampering with records, 1 to 2 years in state prison on the count of forgery and 1 year of probation on the count of unauthorized practice of law. The sentences on the latter two counts run concurrently, meaning the effective sentence is 2 years and a day to 5 years in state prison.
Jeffrey Johnson, spokesperson for the A.G.’s office, said, “We feel the sentence is appropriate given the clear sense of entitlement the defendant exhibited, the number of people who she deceived and the length of time this conduct went on. She put her own interests before those of her clients.”
