An extension cord is to blame for a fire that sent a DuBois man to the hospital.
A State Police Fire Marshal ruled the Robinson St. fire an accident. The fire started just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police said there was an excessive number of extension cords and electrical appliances in the living room. The fire allegedly started from one draped over the footboard of a bed.
Damages are estimated around $65,000.
Officials remind the public to only use extension cords temporarily and make sure they are not pinched or placed under heavy or sharp objects while in use.
