The former director of the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center was sentenced this morning.
It was a short hearing and when the judge asked if he wanted to say anything, he said no.
William Weaver, 56, Bellefonte, entered a guilty plea to two second-degree misdemeanor counts of failure to report, and a summary charge of disorderly conduct.
Weaver got two years probation, a fine of $1,000 plus court costs, and 100 hours of community service.
Assistant district attorney Ryan Dobo said in court that it would be hard to prove Weaver’s conduct was willful.
Weaver’s attorney said he’s ready to move forward with his life.
Both Weaver and the assistant director resigned last May amid revelations that a sub had been having discussions about her sex life with students.
Police learned that Weaver was told about this and decided to only call her in if absolutely necessary.
“We think that it was an acceptable resolution of the case given all the circumstances, given all the information that has been investigated both by myself and by the district attorney’s office,” says defense attorney Karen Muir.
Judge Paul Cherry also ordered that Weaver will not be able to work in any capacity overseeing minors, and must attend programs at the Community Guidance Center.
