Most residents have their power restored in Downtown Altoona, but 12th Ave. will remain closed through today. 
 
Many traffic lights are working, but Penelec says they won’t all be operational until sometime today. 
 
Penelec has been repairing and replacing more than 1,400 feet of wiring underground and checking gas leaks. 
 
A temporary feed restored power to the Brett Building last night and is expected to get a permanent feed later today or tomorrow, along with other businesses.
 
The Cathedral, Blair Senior Services building, Catholic Charities and St. Joseph’s Center are expected to have their power restored sometime today.
 
Power went out Sunday evening after a substation transformer blew and set off a chain reaction.
