The Altoona Curve is getting their home field ready for fans, upgrading parts of People’s Natural Gas Field.

The team is working on changing their stadium lights to LED bulbs, along with upgrading the ticket booth. It will keep its original design, but be moved over onto a better foundation.

The rail king seats on the party deck have also been upgraded and they plan to put new protective netting around home plate and the dugout. General Manager Derek Martin explained where they got the funding for the project.

“That’s all part of the ballpark improvement fund, which we are using zero taxpayers money,” Martin said. “That’s being funded privately and also through the hotel bed tax. “

The Curve plan to have the upgrades ready for opening day, but the ticket booth won’t be ready for Curve Fest on March 11.
