Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane’s office today announced the arrest of a State College man charged with distributing crystal methamphetamine.
The arrest of Joseph Mishock, 33, was the result of a three-month investigation conducted by the Office of Attorney General’s Centre County Drug Task Force. The task force is a collaborative effort between investigators with the Office of Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and local law enforcement agencies.
According to a criminal complaint, investigators utilized a confidential informant during this investigation. The informant made multiple controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Mishock, investigators said. That led investigators to obtain a search warrant for Mishock’s residence.
The search warrant was executed Saturday and led to the seizure of approximately half a gram of methamphetamine, various drug paraphernalia, a small amount of marijuana, $317 in cash and an electronic weapon similar to a Taser. The weapon is worn like a pair of brass knuckles and dispatches two probes which transmit an electronic pulse, according to investigators.
Mishock, 333 Logan Ave., Apt. 408, is charged with four counts of delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal use of a communication facility and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of a prohibitive offensive weapon.
Mishock is being held in the Centre County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for June 1. This case will be prosecuted by the Centre County District Attorney’s office.
Attorney General Kane thanked the following law enforcement agencies for their collaborative investigative efforts: the Centre County District Attorney’s office, the State College Police Department, the Ferguson Township Police Department, the Patton Township Police Department, the Bellefonte Police Department, the Spring Township Police Department and the Penn State University Police Department.
