MOXHAM, CAMBRIA COUNTY – Crews in Cambria County were called out for a water rescue after a kayaker ran into some rough waters.
It happened just after six o’clock in the Stoneycreek River in Johnstown, near bridge street in Moxham.
That’s when fire crews tell us four people were kayaking. One woman had to be rescued. She was on a little bit on an island, holding onto a tree when crews got to her.
They were able to get her within a half hour after that call went out.
We’re told the rain yesterday caused some swift water conditions.
Johnstown Fire Department and Water Rescue team, along with West End EMS were called out to the scene. The woman was not hurt.
