It was a messy situation on Monday afternoon when a tractor-trailer was sliced open, dumping dozens of boxes of adult diapers onto the highway near Clearfield.

The truck with the diapers was trying to pass another truck, when it hit the back corner of the truck, splitting the metal and releasing part of its load of diapers onto the road, Lawrence Township Fire Company No. 1 Chief Elliott Neeper said.

Boxes littered the highway, with packages of Prevail Per-Fit diapers visible on the asphalt near Mile 118 on I-80.

“You know, the guy’s stopped in the road and I don’t know, it just happened so fast, the adrenaline,” says the diaper truck driver who identified himself only as Ed from Queens, N.Y. “It’s just one of those things, you call an accident an accident.”

Police are investigating. No one was hurt in the incident.
