State Police are investigating a theft that left a Centre County couple scammed out of $6,000 worth of gift cards.

 

The incident happened on Jan. 19. in Howard Township, when a man, who claimed to be their grandson, said he was involved in a crash that left another person injured and needed money to pay his attorney. The suspect however, said the money had to be sent via Walmart and Target gift cards.
