State Representative Scott Conklin has been reappointed democratic Chairman of Children and Youth Committee.

 

He said the committee is expected to address the needs of children affected by the state’s heroin and opioid epidemic.

 

“Not addressing this issue would be turning our backs and covering our ears,” Conklin said. “We lose too many young people everyday through drug overdoses. We lose too many parents everyday through drug overdoses that leave small children behind. It’s a trickle-down effect and it’s not stopping until we address it.”
