Community raises money for families with life threatening diseases

A county wide effort to help raise money for families impacted by life threatening diseases is hitting the dance floor Friday night.

Four high schools in Huntingdon County are putting aside their rivalries for a fundraising dance marathon.

Hundreds of students are expected to partake in the annual CHAMP dance marathon. CHAMP stands for Creating Hope and Making Progress and it’s primarily run and organized by high school students who are dedicated to giving back.

Their goal is to raise $60,000 to benefit 13 families in Huntingdon County.

The dance marathon kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday at Mount Union High School and will last until 7 a.m. Saturday.
