Making Christmas dreams come true, that’s what one teacher in the Windber School District is doing for students.
Jamie Crum is a 7th grade teacher who helped to create the “Angel Project.” It’s a community donation that helps around 20 students in need each year.
They collect new clothes and something extra special to put under the tree for the kids.
“Just knowing that you can help these kids, seeing a smile on their face with brand new clothes, and helping them feel confident is awesome. It is why I was put on this earth, to help people,” Crum says.
Crum tells us that her and her husband do not exchange Christmas gifts any more because they buy for the kids.
Kevin Edmondson, a 5th grade teacher, says the elementary school was excited to help out with the project this year. He adds that by raising money through fundraisers like dress-down days, they were also able to help provide three Thanksgiving meals to students in need this year.
If you would like to donate to the “Angel Project,” you can drop items off at Windber Elementary School.
