Rescue efforts continue in Fox Township at the Greentree Landfill, in Elk County.

 

Multiple employees were trapped after some machinery slid down the landfill Wednesday, just before 2:30 p.m. At this time, we are told that one man remains missing; the other four were able to walk away from the scene. 

 

The landfill is off of Route 219, at the intersection of Route 153. About three fire companies assisted at the scene and a helicopter search is underway.

 

At this time, the condition of the other employees is unknown. Crews are prepared to be on scene for a period of time.
