We are just over 100 days from the November election and Pennsylvania remains in place. That’s one of the reasons Hillary Clinton is making a stop in Johnstown on Saturday.  However, in a town that is union made some workers are not excited to see her.

Officially accepting the democratic nomination for president, Hillary Clinton said her party represents the middle class.

“If you believe that we should say “no” to unfair trade deal, That we should stand up to China, That we should support our steelworkers and auto workers and homegrown manufacturers join us.”

Clinton and Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Kaine will visit Johnstown Wire Technologies on Saturday,  Inside the wire mill it appears her message has not resonated with all workers.  WTAJ obtained photos that showed property defaced with spray painted messages that read “Make America Great”.

United Steelworkers Regional Director Bob McAuliffe was not aware of the vandalism, but he said the workers have the right to vote for the candidate of their choice.  The USW has endorsed Clinton and McAuliffe said the union’s job is to educate its members on making the right choice in November.

“Donald Trump just says what some people want to hear and stuff he says is ludicrous.”  McAuliffe added, “He is clueless when he claims to know the steel industry. He doesn’t have any calluses on his hands compared to our workers.”

In a town that historically votes democrat, that tide may be changing in favor of Trump.  Some voters say there is a waiting list for Trump signs.  Cecilia Houser, who is running as a republican in the PA-72nd District, says working families want to see change.“

When you have candidates that are anti-energy and anti-coal industry the voters are taking note of that,” said Houser.

Clinton and union leaders say a rich businessman does not care about the middle class.

The Cambria County Republican Party says it has no plans to schedule a rally in opposition to Clinton’s visit, but they have said there are rumblings of a grassroots protest.

Clinton and Kaine are scheduled to make a campaign stop at Johnstown Wire Technologies around 12:45 p.m., but that event is not open to the general public.
