GERMAN, Pa. (AP) — State police say a collision between a dump truck and a pickup truck in western Pennsylvania has left three people dead, including a 4-year-old boy.

Troopers in Fayette County say the tri-axle dump truck and pickup collided on Route 21 in German Township just before 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say a 53-year-old Uniontown man in the pickup was dead at the scene. The 21-year-old McClellandtown woman driving the pickup was rushed to Uniontown Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The 4-year-old boy was removed from the back seat but died a short time later. The 46-year-old dump truck driver was uninjured.

The names of the victims weren’t immediately released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
