Chance the dog helps raise funds for humane society

A special four-legged friend was at Leighty’s Farm Market to help out a local organization on Sunday.

Chance is a service dog who was lost six months ago and reunited with his owner, Charles Koch, thanks to community help. He was set up at a kissing booth to help raise money for the Humane Society.

Bikers for Barkers were there to collect donations and to get folks to sign up for next Sunday’s motorcycle fundraiser.

Koch brought Chance to the market for the kissing booth as a way to help give back to the community.

“Chance here is the money maker,” Koch said. “He helps bring in the money so that they can do the rescues, the health care of animals, the feeding, everything that’s involved with that.”

The Leighty family donated a space for Bikers for Barkers to set up Sunday.

The Bikers for Barkers Charity Motorcycle Run is set for 11:30 Sunday, July 10th at the Pinecroft Fire Hall.
