The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts will celebrate its 50th anniversary this summer.  The streets of downtown State College will be packed with great artists.

Like many arts festivals, organizers in Centre County take pride in advertising their events with a collectible poster.

What makes this poster unique is that it is all down by the work of one man.

For more than 30 years Lanny Sommese, a former Penn State profession has designed the look.

He retired from teaching in the Spring of 2014, but festival organizers say he has no plans to retire from this tradition.

The 2016 poster features the Festival’s jester driving a car filled with friends through Pennsylvania woodlands.

CPFA’s Executive Director, Rick Bryant, will join us live Tuesday on WTAJ News at 5 p.m.

The festival runs from July 13-17.

Don’t forget to buy a Button!

The Arts Festival button provides wearers with general admission to selected performances (children 12 and under are free with a button-wearing adult), and shows support for this terrific regional arts event. Show your button at these performances, and we’re ready to entertain you on a first-come, first-seated basis.

We can’t do it without you. Please help the Festival keep coming around each year. Buy a button!

Buttons cost $10 each and are now available both online and at select retail outlets in the Centre Region, which are listed below. You can also buy your buttons at Information and Sales Booths and at indoor performance sites during the Festival.

The 2016 button is sponsored by the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County.
