The Children’s Miracle Network hosted a brunch and silent auction fund-raiser at the Nittany Lion Inn Sunday.
New chairman Dr. Paul Bellino says his job is more than signing papers and organizing events.
“I really have a chance to really get a full understanding of how wide a service area that we have and the things that we are doing to touch people’s lives.”
And he says seeing the lives the network touches is special.
“It’s even more special when I recognize that the things we use everyday to help these people have their children and to see these kids so vibrant and lively running around. It’s really made possible by the people doing the jobs, but by the equipment we have funded by CMN, ” added Dr. Bellino.
Children’s Miracle Network helps fund physician equipment they need to provide the best care.
As Neonatologist Dr. Lauren Johnson says, “We want to make sure we are providing them with the newest, the best, basically the best things we can provide them with. That requires us to be cutting edge. That requires us to have access to funds in kind of a different channel. You know, not just the normal wait for someone that’s important in then hospital, but something that is specifically directed towards children.”
And Dr. Bellino adds, “CMN really affords the opportunity for us to look at the things that people are doing in our communities. Our physicians and the practices we have and really try to give those people a leg up to give them the things that they need to provide the best of care to the children we serve.”
