The cause of death of a 3-month old Altoona girl has been released.

The Blair County Coroner says the baby died of “sudden infant death syndrome” or “SIDS.”

Police say the parents called 911 Monday afternoon, after they found that their baby was not breathing.

According to the coroner, “SIDS” means that there were no external or internal injuries, or medical reasons that would have caused the child to die.

Funeral services for the baby will be held later this week.
