In Somerset County 39 cadets are taking the challenge this week to overcome their fears and create high self esteem at Camp Cadet.
The program has been running for 16 years in the county.
It’s for teens between the ages of 13 and 15 who are primarily interested in law enforcement or the military.
The cadets tell WTAJ that it has been a motivating week, where the words “I can’t” are not allowed.
“I am scared of heights and it was terrifying. However, they pushed me and pushed me. I am proud of myself that I did it. I am excited and I’m ready to do it again,” says Cadet Sierra Collins who repelled down the rock wall successfully.
Camp Cadet is a week long program.
The cadets in Somerset County will graduate on Saturday.
