Clearfield Borough Police said businesses in the area are being targeted by scammers.
At least four businesses received calls from someone posing as a Penelec representative that said they were behind on their bills, according to police and that caller is asking for $1,500 to $1,900 in prepaid cards.
Police said this is a scam.
