Jefferson County has the highest detection rate  in the later stages of breast cancer in Pennsylvania, along with the highest mortality rate.

The Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania display showcases at least one breast cancer patient from each county in the state. It’ll travel from DuBois to other Penn Highlands locations in St. Mary’s Brookville, Clearfield and Philipsburg.

“When they can look at the exhibits and see the courage and the hope of faces from not just a county far away from here but our local counties, our Jefferson County, Clearfield,  Elk, we can see women from our own community that say, wow, maybe I  should get my mammogram,” said Penn Highlands Case Manager for Women’s Health Lori Rancik, RN.
