Parking in downtown State College is about to be a lot more convenient.
Borough officials have installed 20 new smart-meters. They accept coins, credit cards and cash. You can also use a smart phone to pay as you go.
The meters are located along College Avenue between Locust Lane and Pugh Street. They will be in use for a 90 day trial period, to determine whether or not they should be added permanently.
Borough parking officials hope they will help reduce parking tickets.
