Blood Drive to benefit Red Cross

Summertime is full of new adventures and long days that turn into memories, but those adventures can keep regular blood and platelet donors from rolling up a sleeve.

The American Red Cross is hoping people will take some time out of their day Tuesday to head to the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona.  It will be the 26th year the Red Cross has held it’s Blair Blood Blitz event

The Red Cross says it gets 100,000 fewer blood donations during the summer months, but blood and platelet donations are needed everyday for patients with many serious medical conditions.

If you’re interested in donating,  the drive runs from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
