Eight different companies announced contracts Thursday morning at Showcase for Commerce in Johnstown. The contracts were worth millions of dollars and some will bring new jobs to the region. We have a list of the contracts below. A majority this information comes from a press release provided by organizers at Showcase for Commerce.
-Kongsberg Protech Systems received orders for Amphibious Remote Weapon Stations in support of the U.S. Marine Corp Amphibious Combat Vehicle Program. They were selected by General Dynamics Land Systems for Stryker, Medium Caliber Remote Weapon Stations effort. They said all of the work will be completed in Johnstown.
-JARI collaborated with the Norwegian American Defense Industry and the Homeland Security Council. They also agree on an international cooperation agreement with the Center for Defense, Space, and Security Denmark. It is a five year agreement.
-BCL Manufacturing announced they plan to expand CNC laser cutting capabilities. They are a Windber company and it’s the 15th year they have attended the showcase. They said they expect continued growth in 2016.
-Problem Solutions received three government awards and four commercial awards. They were founded in 2004 by three UPJ graduates. Two of the contracts are with the U.S. Army and one is with the U.S. Navy, that is worth $85 million.
-API Defense reached a new manufacturing agreement with Roboteam North America for the production of the Micro Tactical Ground Robot. It is a $25 million contract. They are a company from Windber.
-Concurrent Technologies Corporation or CTC joined Battelle and E2A. They were awarded the National Defense Center for Energy and Environment IDIQ contract worth more than $122 million.
-Enterprise Ventures Corporation announced the new release of a cyber security software called the Advanced Guard for Information Security or AGIS.
-JWF Defense Systems received four different contracts. Together they will create 60 new jobs. One contract is with the Navy, another is connected to the U.S. Army. They announced a $72 million contract award from General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems to build military vehicles. The final contract is with Mac Defense out of Allentown.
