CNB Bank in Madera, will be closing its doors for good, come May 31st. This branch of CNB Bank, is the only bank business in the town. When the closure occurs, this will cause residents to have to drive over five miles to another town, to be able to do their banking.
The bank released a notice, hung on the front of the bank doors, reassuring customers there will be no interruption to their accounts. It also notified account holders they will be able to access everything at the Houtzdale, Phillipsburg, or the Osceola mills branch offices.
Bigler Township supervisor, Randall Mick, says this is a major inconvenience for the area. He says many businesses will be impacted. While Mick states the drive to another branch may only take a few extra minutes, the impact is significant, especially for the elderly, who rely on others for transportation to the bank. Mick says he is not sure if the area will see another bank company moving into the area.
CNB Bank is also encouraging account holders in the area to take advantage of their mobile and onlinee banking services. Customers with questions on the closure, may call CNB’s customer service center at (800) 432-3221.
