Authorities: Parking spot dispute spurred fatal shooting

HOMESTEAD, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a dispute over a parking spot apparently sparked a shooting that left one man dead and another wounded in western Pennsylvania.

Allegheny County police say Neil Chandler is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and a weapons count. It’s not known if the 42-year-old Homestead man has retained an attorney.

The shooting in Homestead was reported shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say both victims were taken to a hospital. 39-year-old Calvin Walker, of West Mifflin, died there a short time later while a 40-year-old man was treated and released later Thursday.

The wounded man’s name was not disclosed.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
