Folks in Duncansville celebrated Community Days on Saturday.

There was live entertainment and a variety of vendors and one came with a special motherly touch.

The Armed Forces Mothers are raising money for care packages they send to troops across the world every year.

Last year postage and shipping alone cost them about $6,000.

The group said the goal is to raise as much money as they can so servicemen and women can open a little holiday cheer.

Patty Davis, a member of the Armed Forces Mothers, said it’s special because “it gives them a little piece of home. A lot of them are so far away from home, some of them for the first time. And it’s just nice to let them know that we’re thinking about them, we care about them.”
