Two Cambria County bridges may be renamed to honor a State Trooper and a soldier killed in action.

If approved by state lawmakers, a bridge spanning over Route 22 in Munster Township will be renamed the PFC Thomas A Cooney Memorial Bridge. Cooney died during World War Two.

Also, a bridge along Route 219 in Croyle Township will now be known as the Herbert Wirfel Bridge. The Trooper was killed in a traffic accident in 1982.
