A local animal shelter is getting a significant boost for its efforts to care for homeless animals. On Tuesday, the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society accepted a $25,000 grant from the Petco Foundation.

The money will help fund the shelter’s trap, neuter, and return program for feral cats .
allow replacement of aging heating and air conditioning units, and provide sponsorship of  the CPHS Fur Ball, a major fundraiser.

Shelter Business and Finance Manager Lisa Boland said all of those projects help make life better for homeless pets in the region.

Don Carney, Manager of the Logan Town Center Petco said donations by local customers made the grant possible.
