It’s estimated that one in 12 Pennsylvania families are affected by Alzheimer’s disease, and that number is expected to grow as the baby boomers get older.
On Monday, State College hosted the fourth in a series of regional roundtables on Alzheimer’s and related disorders. The Pennsylvania Department of Aging is holding the forums to discuss the State Plan for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders.
Secretary of Aging, Theresa Osborne said, “The opportunity that we have to pause, to connect, to communicate, and then lead to collaboration and action steps, with steps at the local level is critically important to ensure that Pennsylvania meets the needs of its Pennsylvanians living with Alzheimer’s disease.”
Osborne says more than 400,000 state residents have Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder.
