The Altoona Curve’s new general manager is looking to connect with the community to help attendance this season. His mission is to team up with as many non profits as possible. General Manager, Derek Martin, says this way it will bring awareness to each of the non profit’s missions.

Martin says there’s an abundance of non profits in the area, and he’s hoping to act as a bridge to connect to them to get people excited and bring a new life to the ball park every night of the week.

The renovations on the People’s Natural Gas Field are also continuing on Tuesday. Crews were out replacing the stadium lighting, while Martin unveiled a new addition for the stands coming this season. There will be a mesh netting placed over some of the seats in the outfield bleachers. This will allow for advertisement, something Martin says is done throughout the league. The netting will also be removable allowing for seating to continue in those areas and people to catch home run balls.
