Visiting polling sites across Central Pennsylvania some voters tell us they had to wait more than an hour to vote. Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State, Pedro Cortes, said voter turnout could top 80%.
One of the more intriguing races is in the 9th Congressional District where Art Halvorson lost to Rep. Bill Shuster in the primary election. Halvorson is now running as a democrat looking to end the Shuster political dynasty.
Voting lines at the Bedford County Fairgrounds were long, but enthusiastic. The race between Halvorson and Shuster had a lot of them talking.
Halvorson is a Tea Party Republican, but because he received enough write-in votes during in the primary he was able to get on the November ballot as a democrat.
His supporters say people know Halvorson is a conservative and agree with his stance on term limits for those in Congress.
