It’s time to lace up those shoes and help some local charities.

The Five Star 5 for 5 is putting on a 5k run/walk to help local charities.

If you pre-register by August 16th, it’s $30.  On the day of the event, August 20th, it’s $35.  The 5k will be held at  Five Star Mitsubishi at 1200 Logan Boulevard in Altoona. Race time is 9 a.m., but registration and packet pick up will start at 7:30 a.m.

You can chose from five charities to donate to or donate to all five equally. The five charities are Sister Paula’s Soup Kitchen, American Heart Association, Cystic Fibrosis, American Cancer Society,  and Mountain Lion Backpack program.

The first three winners in each category ( men’s, women’s and kids’) will receive $200, $100, and $50, in that  respective order.

If you aren’t able to compete, but would still like to donate you can donate by visiting Five Star Foundation Website or makes a check out to Five Star Foundation – CPCF and mailed to:

Unless otherwise advised, CPCF will notify the Five Star Foundation of your donation and the amount.
