NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a gunman opened fire on people socializing by a Brooklyn playground and wounded three men, leaving one fighting for his life.
The gunfire erupted around 7 p.m. Monday on Hemlock Street in the East New York area, where the men were apparently passing time in an area with tables and grills outside the playground.
Police say one man was shot in the neck area. An ambulance took him to a hospital.
A second man got to the hospital on his own. Officers found the third man when they stopped a car nearby. He was then taken to a hospital by ambulance.
Details of the second and third men’s injuries aren’t immediately clear. Police say the two are expected to survive.
Officers are looking for the gunman, who fled on foot.
