Residents can call 2-1-1 any time of the day or night for assistance, whether it’s for health, housing, drug and alcohol treatment, employment or just information.
The United Way of the Laurel Highlands helped make it possible, setting aside $10,000 to increase coverage to include Cambria and Somerset Counties in the statewide program.
Matt Spangler is the Community Relationship Manager for United Way of the Laurel Highlands. He said he’s glad this new resource will have a direct impact on the lives of people in the community.
“You never know when anyone is at that place in their life when they’re going to need to reach out to someone. So as I said, PA 2-1-1 can now become that complete, reliable resource for the residents of Cambria and Somerset County,” said Spangler.
The 2-1-1 helpline is not for emergencies. If you are in danger or need immediate medical help, you should still call 9-1-1.
