It’s that time of year again. The trees are lit, the snowmen are smiling and loved ones are gathering to celebrate.

But in the Kuchar household in Meadow Grove, Nebraska, the halls are decked with more than just the typical stockings and Santas.

A giant banner and balloons also fill the house for a very special birthday. 

Lenora Kuchar was born on December 25, 1914, but she says she doesn’t feel like she’s 104-years-old at heart. 

“It’s hard to believe, but I don’t think about time and all that I just go along with it,” says Lenora. 

“This is a blessing. How many people can say that their mother lived this long?” says Lenora’s daughter, Kathleen Kuchar.

“She’ll live forever!” says Lenora’s son, Gary Kuchar.

Many people who have birthdays on Christmas may feel overshadowed or forgotten, but Lenora’s family makes sure she’s a top priority every year.

“We all make sure to get here,” said Lenora’s daughter, Carol Hansen.

“I’ve started a tradition of bringing her flowers. It’s really special,” says Gary.

“She always got extra presents she never was left out,” said Kathleen.

But it’s not all about the gifts.

“We shouldn’t get so busy in our shopping that we forget the true meaning of Christmas,” says Lenora.

For Lenora’s Merry Birthday she just wants her family together.
